The wind pushed us from Corsica to Sardinia, Ustica, Palermo and the Aeolian islands. New speed records, new experiences, volcanos... Epic !

We are all astonished that we see more plastic floating around than fishes when we are sailing. Everyday we see at least one plastic bag floating in the sea. It is everyone's responsibility to make the sea clean again, minimising plastic usage and throwing away the plastic to the recycling bins.
Since we started sailing a month ago, I have been trying to put in place a new 'routine' mode for the family, to match our new life style. The only routine that we were able to establish so far is to get up at 7 am and to go to bed around 11 pm (9 pm for the kids and lights off at 10 pm). This is still very basic and I am afraid that we will not be able to keep this routine when we will have night navigations. We're still working on this.
Time flies. We left home fifteen days ago, we have been very busy setting up everything on the boat and enjoying our first days out. We are very pleased with our new life style, and if you keep on reading you will know how our first two weeks went.
Time has come to replace our good old North Sails main sail (in place since 2008/2009). After discussion and following the advise from our sailmaker, we decided to go for a new sailcloth: Vectron from DIMENSION-POLYANT. This is a new line of woven sailcloth in DP's catalog for 2017.
Once feelings were identified, I decided to go through instead of hiding them, and guess what? I have been accepting and living them and during the the last days, I was able to feel each and every of them (sometimes even crying). Accepting made me feel much better and healthy. Sometimes, a new emotion comes in, one that I am not able to identify, in that case I proceed with the following steps : observe it (be conscious that it exists and analyse it), accept it (it is here for a reason) and deal with it (it is now going to go away on its own).
Some people are surprised on how we are giving things away, but we are extremely happy that things get reused - it's tiny thing, but it contribute to spare a bit our planet. We got very conscious about this mission toward "sustainable minimalism": when looking for new things (only things that we need!), we always look first at the second hand market.
The Agile Manifesto relies on 12 pillars. The more you intend to be in line with those pillars, the more agile your team (or family !) is. Check out what pillars we are honouring this week
3 months ago I gave a try to the kudo cards at home, the kids created their own family kudobox and the kudo cards. From that day, during the week any family member can post a kudo card in the box and at the end of the week in our family retrospective meeting we open the box.
2 months and a half ago we started the long journey preparation. We added new user stories to our backlog and we switched to Kanban working mode. Little by little we have improved the way that we are working in order to keep focus on the main priorities.
